Women’s Wellbeing Workshops

Women’s Wellbeing Workshops are a series of group workshops designed for women experiencing:

  • weight concerns

  • binge eating

  • struggling with being active

  • weight cycling

  • food anxiety

  • body image concerns

  • emotional eating  

  • comfort eating    

  • overeating or compulsive eating

  • yo-yo dieting                                                          

 

The Workshops are aimed at helping women move away from food anxiety, body hatred and the diet/binge cycle. We provide a compassionate and supportive space for women to explore and find peace with their relationship with movement, food, eating and their body. The Workshops are a weight-neutral and body inclusive space where women can develop skills, feel supported and meet other women experiencing similar concerns.

 

The Workshops are designed to allow you to attend at your own pace. You may like to drop in for a particular topic or you may like to attend as part of your overall dietetic treatment (package options available). The Workshop content is derived from the non-diet and Health at Every Size® (HAES) approach and is facilitated by Non-Diet Dietitian and HAES® Professional, Carlia Lozo.

When: monthly, 3 hour sessions on Saturdays 9am-12pm

Where: Hornsby Practice, Suite 2, Level 2, 28-30 Florence St, Hornsby

Cost: $80/workshop OR package options available

The Body Peace Workshop is designed to help you move towards improving your body image and developing a more peaceful relationship with your body.

  • Set meaningful health & wellbeing goals

  • Start moving towards improved body image

Embracing Non-Diet Nutrition

This Workshop is designed to move you towards a more peaceful relationship with food/eating and to help you find ways of exploring nutrition from your new non-diet lens.

 

What topics will be covered:

  • Understanding the diet/binge cycle and how to break it

  • Learn how to decrease pre-occupation with food/eating

  • Learn how to normalise your eating behaviours

  • Learn how to have a healthy relationship with food/eating

  • Find ways to increase food variety and improve dietary quality

Body Positive Movement

The upcoming Workshop, Body Positive Movement is aimed at improving your relationship with moving your body and supporting you in finding ways of engaging in movement that is joyful and sustainable.

 

What topics will be covered:

  • Your relationship with exercise

  • What is body positive movement

  • Exploring your values & goals around movement

  • Exploring movement ideas that are body positive

  • Overcoming barriers to being active

  • Setting intentions for an ongoing movement practice

Mindful Eating Basics

In this Workshop we explore the basics of how mindful eating can help improve our relationship with food and eating.  You will learn how to eat according to your appetite and start to become aware of overeating or mindless eating.

What topics will be covered:

  • Mini-guided mindfulness meditation

  • Your relationship with food and eating

  • Learn how to tune into your internal cues of hunger & fullness awareness

  • Explore how mindful eating can help with knowing what, when and how much to eat

  • Becoming aware of your cues to eating when not physically hungry

  • Setting intentions for an ongoing mindful eating practice

Mindful Eating Advanced

This Workshop will continue on from the Mindful Eating Basics Workshop and will explore how mindful or intuitive eating can help decrease mindless eating, overeating and comfort eating.

 

You will explore the art of mindful eating with some yummy food and also create your own mindful eating practice to assist you ongoing.

 

What topics will be covered:

  • Mini-guided mindfulness meditation

  • Practice the art of mindful/intuitive eating

  • Learn mindful eating can assist to decrease mindless eating

  • Learn how mindful eating can help with comfort eating or overeating

  • Create strategies for personalised self-care and compassion around eating

  • Learn how to cultivate an ongoing mindful eating practice

Enhancing Self Compassion

This Workshop will explore our own level of self-compassion and how we can start cultivating a more compassionate, kind and loving attitude towards ourselves. We will explore the elements of self-compassion and how increasing one's self compassion supports us in moving towards improving our health behaviours.

 

What topics will be covered:

  • Self-compassion guided meditation

  • Identifying your own self compassion using a validated scale

  • Explore the 3 elements of self-compassion

  • Explore the relationship between self-compassion and health behaviours

  • Tips for practicing self-compassion

  • Learning how to cultivate a compassionate response to emotional/comfort eating

Body Peace
